Cancer Care Ontario honours the Aboriginal path of well-being in its
pursuit to provide better cancer services for First Nations, Inuit and Métis on
their cancer journey. Together, CCO and First Nations, Inuit and Métis leadership,
organizations and communities across Ontario created the Aboriginal Cancer
Strategies to address First Nations, Inuit and Métis cancer control issues in
Ontario. The strategy outlines CCO’s commitment for improving the performance
of the cancer system with, and for, First Nations, Inuit and Métis people. This
course provides an overview of CCO’s Ontario Cancer Plan IV, Aboriginal Cancer
Strategy III, as well as highlighting engagement with First Nations, Inuit and
Métis people to improve the renal system for the Ontario Renal Network. The
course also demonstrates a respectful and effective partnership between First
Nations, Inuit and Métis leaders, the government and healthcare providers.
